The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved the updated procedures for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry registration, listed critical procedures and requirements for all application.

Registration Timeline

  • E-PIN Distribution started January 26, 2026
  • Profile Code Generation is available now through SMS
  • Registration started after profile code generation

JAMB 2026 Registration Process

1. Generate Profile Code (FIRST – MANDATORY)

Before you can register, candidates must generate a profile code using their valid NIN and new phone number.

Note: once a profile code is generated, it cannot be changed, and your biodata will be automatically retrieved by the NIMC database.”

2. Purchase JAMB e-PIN

Candidates should make sure after generating your profile code, candidate should buy his JAMB E-PIN from reliable channels only:

Note: Do not buy E-PINs from unauthorized sources to avoid error

3. Visit JAMB Office or CBT Centre

  • Visit the nearest JAMB Office or released CBT Centre
  • Come with your profile code and E-PIN

How to Generate JAMB Profile Code

Follows the format below to generate your JAMB profile code:

  • Candidates must type and send his 11-digit NIN through SMS to 55019 or 66019
  • Use this exact format: NIN 00000011111 (with a interval between “NIN” and your number)
  • Then you wait and receive a profile code in response

JAMB 2026 Registration Requirements

Some mistakes and their Solutions When Generating Profile Code

Problem 1: “Typing 55190 instead of 55019/66019 is an error made by the candidats when generating profile code. Below is the solution to such error:

  • Check the correct code use to generate JAMB profile code.
  • Use appropriate SMS format: NIN [space] Your NIN to 55019 or 66019
  • Make sure there is a space between “NIN” and your number

Problem 2: ” Using previous registered phone number.

  • Meaning: The candidate phone number was already been used to generate a profile code
  • Use a new phone number that is not used previously.
